Description

12mo, pp. 183, [3, ads]. Untrimmed in original stiff drab card wrappers printed in black, sometime backed in drab cloth. Somewhat shaken, paper lightly toned, some spotting. Binding soiled, water-stained and a little rubbed, corners creased and worn.

Notes

A scarce compilation of material relating to Scottish witchcraft with a focus on the east, reprinting letters and court documents relating to witchcraft trials in Dirleton, Bo'ness and Pittenweem, alongside an extract from King James VI's Daemonologie and material on prophesy.
This copy is an unusual survivor in its original wrappers, which give its original price of 4s, and preserves a final advertisement leaf for more of Webster's publications which is not recorded in Library Hub; the rear wrapper continues these adverts.
