Notes

A lavish family history focussing on historian and Master of Balliol College Arthur Lionel Forster Smith (1850-1924), his wife Mary Florence, and their antecedents and descendants. It was privately printed for family only - a printed note at the head of the contents leaf asks that 'in view of the intimate and personal character of this book you will keep this copy strictly within your family circle' - and correspondingly scarce, with no copies listed on Library Hub or Worldcat, although the NLS holds a copy.
