Description

3 vols., 8vo, pp. [viii], clxvi, 282; [viii], 354, [353-354], 355-434; [viii], 471, [1]. Near contemporary full calf, spines divided by triple gilt rolls, lettered in gilt, other compartments with central gilt tools, boards bordered with blind rolls and cornerpieces, edges sprinkled blue. Notes

An attractive copy of the third edition of Scott's influential collection, which adds four ballads provided by Mr Livingston of Airds and the Reverend John Marriott. The second volume contains a double cancellans and replacement leaves, evident in the repeated page numbers 353-354 and lack of signature, as noted by Todd & Bowden.
