Binding a little marked, spine-ends lightly bumped, boards just slightly bowed.

Notes

The first trade edition of Barrie's novel, extracted and adapted from his 1902 adults' novel The Little White Bird, presented in this edition with Arthur Rackham's illustrations - a total of 50 colour plates tipped in to brown card stock, 3 line-drawings within the text and the gilt design to the front board. This (along with the deluxe, limited edition variant) was the first appearance of these illustrations, which later editions drastically decreased in number: a 1909 reprint had 24, while 1940s printings made do with six.
