An early instructional work by the distinguished General Sir Richard Haking (1862-1945), then GSO1 of the 3rd Division and an instructor at Staff College, Camberley, and soon to be awarded CB. Known as a good tactician, he is better remembered for his 1913 follow-up Company Training.
