Notes

A publisher's deluxe binding on the New Medieval Library edition. An English translation of an anonymous medieval romans, with the original Old French in the second half. The tale follows a knight under the Duke of Burgundy and his secret love for the Chatelaine of Vergi (or Vergy), the Duke's niece. Ripe with garden scenes, treachery, death and despair, this tale surrounds such themes of courtly honour, love and vengeance.
