Contemporary tree calf, boards bordered with gilt rolls and rules, spines divided by gilt rolls and rules, red morocco labels, other compartments tooled centrally on a darker ground, marbled endpapers. Spines a little creased.

An attractive set of the letters of Richard Steele (1671-1729), best remembered for co-founding The Tatler. This copy matches the variant issue mentioned in ESTC.
