Contemporary marbled calf, boards bordered with double gilt rules, spines divided by gilt rolls, 2nd and 5th compartments lettered in gilt direct, other compartments tooled centrally in gilt. A little toned and spotted. Leather somewhat rubbed and crackled, some wear to extremities, joints just starting. Ownership inscription of David Smith dated Jan. 25th 1813 to title-page, short presentation note dated 2. Aug. 1931 tipped in to facing blank.
