Notes

A scarce, Scottish, provincially-printed Milton, recorded in just 2 locations by Library Hub: NLS and Cambridge. It is an early work by Cupar bookseller Robert Tullis (1775-1831), who set up his firm in 1797 and acquired a printing press in 1803. This copy has a tipped-in note to Margaret, telling her 'granny wanted you to have these volumes of Milton. They belonged to great-grandmother Urquhart' and including a clipped signature of her grandmother from an old cheque.
