6 vols, 8vo, pp. xiii, [iii], 578; [xii], 265, [1]; x, [ii], 450; viii, [iv], 423, [1]; x, [iv], 398; xii, 405, [1] + hand-coloured frontispiece and title-page to each volume and 81 further hand-coloured plates. Numerous further illustrations within text, many full-page. Contemporary half red calf by Bayntun, red cloth boards, spines divided by raised bands gilt, 2nd and 4th compartments lettered direct in gilt, other compartments tooled centrally in gilt, top edges gilt, marbled endpapers. Bindings unevenly but lightly sunned, leather a little discoloured, one volume with small patch of wear to joint. Armorial bookplates of Francis Sharratt to pastedowns.
