List 40: Scottish Books 1609-1961

We are pleased to announce List 40: Scottish Books 1609-1961, containing 30 books in a wide variety of areas, though all with Scottish connections, and particularly strong in Scots law, history, bindings, and classics. Highlights include the first Scots printing of the Regiam Maiestatem, a large-paper copy of the first separate printing of the earliest surviving attempt at a continuous history of Scotland, the probable first edition of an early history of the 1745 Rebellion, and a large-paper Edinburgh Virgil in green morocco.
