Find us
We are located near the top of Leith Walk in central Edinburgh, at the eastern edge of New Town, close to many major attractions and transport links. We are 10 minutes walk from Waverley railway station and Edinburgh Bus Station, just 2 minutes from the McDonald Road tram stop or 5 minutes from Picardy Place, and only a few metres from bus stops served by the 7, 10, 11, 14, 16, 25, and 49 routes. We are on the boundary of two pay-and-display Parking Zones, and nearby Annandale Street provides the cheapest parking for a week-day visit. There is free parking in surrounding streets on weekends, and a loading area (outwith peak hours) directly outside.
Other attractions in the nearby area include Calton Hill, the Edinburgh Playhouse, Valvona & Crolla, the St James Shopping Centre, Lyon & Turnbull auctioneers, and all the shops and restaurants of Broughton Street and Leith Walk. More information for visitors to the city is available from Visit Scotland.
Looking to sell books?
We are always interested in antiquarian, rare, and collectable books, whether singly or in collections. When space permits we also buy collections of general second-hand books.
The first step to have us consider a book or books is to provide some details, preferably by email (to the address above), so that we can let you know if there is potential interest. Important information to provide is the author, title, publisher, date and any comments you can make about the binding material and condition. For books of potential interest we must still then see the books to assess them properly before we can confirm our interest, comment on their value or make an offer.
We can travel to view books of sufficient potential interest, or we are happy to look at any book brought into our shop, to make an offer or provide a quick verbal assessment. Please note that the buyer is not in every day so it is best to check with us before travelling in with books. Unfortunately we cannot value books over the telephone or by email.
If you require a formal written valuations for insurance, probate, or similar purposes we can provide this service, though in this case there is a charge for our time and effort.
