Notes

The second edition of this early Scots dictionary by Scottish poet Ebenezer Picken (1769-1816), published anonymously and posthumously. It contained enough original material that Jamieson used it as a source for his 1820s Supplement to the monumental Etymological Dictionary of 1808.
