8vo, pp. lx, 315, [1]. Sixteen-page advertisement section bound before flyleaf. Original dark green cloth, printed paper label to spine. A few minor marks. Cloth slightly sunned and a touch worn at extremities, label toned and a bit scuffed. Mackintosh bequest label to pastedown, ownership inscription of John Mackintosh dated Nov. 1839 to flyleaf.

Notes

Scarce in original condition like this. The copy of John Mackintosh (1822-1851), subject of a popular religious biography after his academic brilliance was cut short by his early death. His books were bequeathed to New College, Edinburgh, and duplicates such as this one recently dispersed when that library was absorbed by the University of Edinburgh.
