Notes

A scarce little Edinburgh printing of this volume of religious instruction - ESTC locates BL, NLS, Oxford, and New Brunswick only. Thomas Vincent (1634-1678) had been minister of St Mary Magdalen in Milk Street, London, the building and parish of which did not survive the Great Fire of London in 1666, and this text was initially published in London in 1673. It was immediately popular, with Edinburgh and Glasgow editions the following year and reprints at least every few years well into the 18th century.
