Description

NO. 27 OF 300 COPIES, folio, pp. xii, 68 + frontispiece and 59 plates. Original brick-red cloth, front board and spine lettered direct in gilt, top edge gilt. Binding a little rubbed and marked, corners bumped, some wear to extremities, particularly spine-ends. Correspondence (2 small double-sided leaves of manuscript and four A4 typescript) to and from a descendant of the artist loosely inserted.

This copy of a large, limited-edition folio of architectural drawings has a collection of letters to and from Dr Alistair Galletly, grandson of the artist, touching on Alexander's Galletly's career at the Edinburgh Museum of Science and Art (the present-day National Museum of Scotland) and some minutiae of his published works.
