Lightly toned, some soiling, a touch of spotting. Somewhat rubbed and scratched. Struck-through ownership inscription to title-page dated 1807.
A scarce provincially-printed anthology that reached a third edition by 1807. There are some contemporary Romantic selections from Southey and Coleridge alongside older work from Pope and Gray, among others. Library Hub records 5 locations, with a further 2 with a variant title-page, crediting Melmoth by his initials. It is illustrated with woodcut vignettes which Hugo attributes to Thomas Bewick, but Tattersfield disagrees and omits this volume.
