Twentieth-century red morocco, spine divided by raised bands, second compartment gilt-lettered direct, turn-ins gilt, marbled endpapers, edges gilt. Some toning and foxing in places, one leaf with portion of blank corner torn away. Edges and spine bands a little rubbed, neatly rebacked preserving original spine. Ownership inscription of Alexr. S. Colm, 1842, to retained binder’s blank, bookplate with monogram ‘NC’ (featuring a scholar writing in a library with a musical skeleton, engraved by A. Wyon) to pastedown.
