18mo, pp. [iv], 300. Half-title and title-page bound in reverse. Contemporary straight-grained green morocco, boards bordered with a gilt rule, spine divided by gilt rules and lettered direct in gilt, edges gilt. A touch of wear to front joint, a little rubbed to extremities, spine slightly darkened. Ownership inscription of George Heath and that of W. Ewart to flyleaves, the latter dated 1817 denoting ‘G. Heath donation’, inscription of GH to rear flyleaf dated 1806, a few neat marginal notes in pencil.

Notes

This edition of Horace is one of only two titles printed by Sarah Baskerville following the death of her husband, using his types.
