Notes

A rare Scottish provincial printing of two works by 17th-century Puritan clergyman William Dyer (1632/3-1696). 'Christ's Famous Titles contained some radical statements, with Dyer writing, for example, that kings were afraid of the government of Christ in case it should 'un-king them', parliaments 'lest it should usurp their authority', and lawyers 'lest it should take away their gains'' (ODNB). ESTC records just a single copy of this edition, at the NLS.
