Notes

A complete set of the published diaries of architectural historian and country house expert James Lees-Milne (1908-1997). Volumes were published fitfully across publishers during his lifetime, with the first two volumes produced by Chatto and Windus, the third by them in collaboration with The Hogarth Press, and the fourth by Faber advertised as 'possibly the last' in the dustjacket copy; the fifth and all subsequent volumes were published by John Murray at regular intervals over more than a decade, edited by Lees-Milne's friend and literary executor Michael Bloch.
