Original red cloth, boards bordered with a blind frame, front board and spine blocked in gilt, edges gilt. Joints starting, binding a little soiled. School prize label to pastedown dated 1873-4.

Notes

A juvenile guide to the natural history of the coast, including a chapter on the island of Staffa. Despite being reprinted a few times it is institutionally scarce, with this undated printing recorded by Library Hub at Edinburgh, Newcastle and Cambridge.
