Some pamphlets a little nicked and soiled to protruding fore-edges. Binding a little rubbed to extremities. Ink ownership stamps of James A. Stephen to flyleaf, presentation inscription to third pamphlet: ‘J.A. Stephen from D.R.’
Notes
A sammelband of pamphlets assembled by Aberdonian doctor James Stephen, with an emphasis on folkloric material and featuring many pieces by his fellow Aberdonian doctor, the folklorist Dr. David Rorie. Although uncredited, Rorie is probably the author of the pamphlet on the songs and names of the Garioch Medical Association, a body he joined in 1905, and most likely the D.R. who has inscribed it, making it a presentation copy.
