INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR, 8vo, pp. 69, [1]. Original pale yellow boards, spine lettered in gilt, pale yellow dustjacket printed in green. Dustjacket spine panel just a touch sunned, extremities slightly bumped. Inscribed to flyleaf: ‘ With all best wishes, Hamish’.

Notes

An inscribed copy of the scarcer boards issue of this reprint of Hamish Henderson's 1948 collection, with a new introduction by Sorley Maclean. 'Elegies' was written between 1943 and 1947 and informed by Henderson's time serving in North Africa. It won the Somerset Maugham award in 1949.
