FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, 8vo, pp. [viii], 202, [2]. Original pale yellow boards, spine and front board lettered in red. Small hole to half-title from pressure from inscription. Binding somewhat soiled and marked, spine darkened. Inscribed to half-title: ‘To Bobbity, with fondest love from Mum, who happens to be Elizabeth Jonsson! November 14th 1957’

Notes

A family association copy of Jonsson's comic novel based on her own experience farming in South Africa. Library Hub records a single clip, at the BL, Worldcat adds a further dozen, most in African institutions. All of the institutional holdings date the book to 1958; this copy possibly has a pre-publication dedication.
