The first edition of Ambrose Heath's ode to breakfasts in uncommonly good condition. One of over two dozen cookbooks Heath authored during the Second World War, in which he promises to help grapple with the 'lack of bacon' in the epigraph. While the opening recipes do call for the cured pork product, they 'make bacon go as far as possible'.
