Description

FIRST EDITION, INSCRIBED BY AUTHOR, 8vo, pp. [vi], 92 + frontispiece. Original red cloth, boards bordered with a double blind rule, front board lettered direct in gilt. A touch of soiling, smudged blue ink blots to frontispiece. Boards a little marked, spine lightly sunned. Inscribed to the frontispiece: ‘Yours Fondly, John Singer’.

Notes

A scarce collection of Scots verse from the Borders weaving town of Galashiels. As well as poems celebrating the surrounding countryside, there is a verse celebrating the local Rugby Sevens team, a poem to the local curling club, and an acrostic in praise of Robert Burns.
