FIRST EDITION, small 8vo, pp. [vi], 85, [1]. Original red paper wrappers printed in black. Scattered spotting. Wrappers a little soiled, chips and wear to spine and extremities. Ink ownership inscription of Bruce Sandison dated July 1975 to half-title, pressed plants leaves preserved in pages.

The rare first edition of this ephemeral collection of Shetlandic folklore, stories, and original poems by Jessie M.E. Saxby (1842-1940). Scarce on the market, OCLC only notes four copies held in institutions worldwide, at NLS, Oxford, Harvard, and Cleveland Public Library.
