An appeal to the House of Lords in the case of the Earl of Aboyne against the Earl of Aberdeen, over the behavior of the arbiter John Innes, factor to the Earl of Fife. The two Earls had seen frequent border scuffles, including the construction and destruction of livestock shelters, in their estates in Cromar, Aberdeenshire, and consequently employed an arbiter to settle disputes as they arose. Aboyne complains of the arbiter's decisions and Aberdeen responds in kind; this copy bears an annotation of the decision in favour of the latter.
