The second edition of William McLaren's (1772-1832) second collection of poetry, first published in Paisley the previous year. Both editions were printed by J. Neilson of Paisley, suggesting the London imprint may be specious. McLaren was a founder member of the Paisley Burns club alongside poet Robert Tannahill; the pair served as first president and treasurer respectively. One of the 'other poems' here collected memorialises Tannahill, and two of the others were written for Burns' Night celebrations.
