Notes

The official account of the 1955 first ascent of the world's third-highest mountain, and a more difficult ascent than K2 and Everest, both of which had been summited in the two years prior. Signed by Charles Evans, George Band, Joe Brown, Neil Mather, John Clegg, John Jackson, Tom Mackinnon, and Tony Streather - which is all the members of the expedition apart from Norman Hardie and the dozens of sherpas. We have been unable to firmly identify the Captain Mackenzie to whom the book is inscribed.
