FIRST BRITISH EDITION, 8vo, pp. [xiv], 538. Original black boards, spine lettered in gilt, dustjacket printed in black, blue and green. Dustjacket a touch soiled, small tear to front flap, some marks to front dustjacket flap and pastedown from tape now removed.

Notes

The first hardcover issue of Crowley's novel, which was issued concurrently in wrappers by Gollancz, following North American publication by Bantam as a trade paperback the previous year. It was nominated for the Hugo and Nebula awards, and won the World Fantasy award in 1982.
