Notes

A scarce collection of Bornean stories by British colonial administrator John Maxwell Hall (1884-1966) offering tales of 'ghosts and piracy, amok, mutiny and love in the Chartered Company's territory before it became a colony', per the rear wrapper. It was published in North Borneo and printed in Hong Kong; Library Hub records 2 copies, at NLS, dated [c.1949?] and SOAS, dated [195-]. Also in Library Hub are 2 copies with a Singapore imprint by Jitts & Co. dated 1950; no precedence has been established.
