Armorial bookplate of Robert Warden to front pasetdown along with his gift inscription ‘to his friend John Urquhart’ dated 1824.

Notes

An explicit imitation of Moxon's Mechanick Exercises of the 1680s by Peter Nicholson (1765-1844), the prolific Scottish architect and engineer. It was a popular and influential text, especially in the USA where it was reprinted beginning in the 1830s. There are suggestions that the first edition was in 1811 but no evidence of this seems to have survived if it did exist.
