FIRST EDITION, 8vo, pp. vii, [i], 484, [6, family tree diagrams]. Original (?) red cloth, printed paper label to spine. Spine a touch faded, label a little marked.

Notes

The first appearance of these early memoirs of Elizabeth Grant (1797-1885), which she initially penned for her children and niece to read, but her daughter consented to have them privately printed after her death. The first trade edition was published the following year by John Murray in London, with nearly identical typesetting, but with the addition of a table of contents and an index.
