8vo, pp. [ii], xxxii, 256, 96. Modern half calf, orange cloth boards, spine divided by raised bands, green morocco label. A little spotted and toned. Front board a touch marked. Ink inscription to flyleaf: ‘A book full of envious information, determined by elaborate research. It is hard to be met with, for the sale of it was prohibited by the courts of Scotland – H.C.’, cancelled St Andrews University Library stamp to verso of title-page, struck-through shelfmark to recto.

An important resource on Scottish printing and the legal battles over the Scottish bible monopoly. The note to the flyleaf is contradicted by the printed notice following the title-page, which states that 'copies of the Memorial are sold at the Depositories of the Bible Societies, and at the shops of the principal booksellers in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Perth, Dundee, Arbroath, Cupar, Dumfries, Greenock, Paisley, Haddington, Jedburgh, Inverness, Kelso, Montrose, Stirling &c.'
