Later half tan morocco, marbled boards, spines divided by raised bands between double gilt rules, lettered in gilt, other compartments with central gilt tool, top edge gilt, other edges rough-trimmed, marbled endpapers. A little spotting. Bindings just slightly rubbed to extremities. Glasgow bookseller’s ticket to front pastedowns.

Notes

An attractive copy of a variant state of the fifth edition according to Todd & Bowden, which was also published as the first three volumes of an 1821 edition of Scott's poetical works. This copy has bookseller labels from Hugh Hopkins Bookseller at 6 Royal Bank Place, Glasgow.
