FIRST EDITION, 4to, pp. xvi, 259, [1] + colour frontispiece and 65 plates, of which 56 in colour with printed tissue guards. Printed addenda et corrigenda sheet loosely inserted. Original blue cloth, spine lettered in gilt, buff dustjacket printed in green and black, top edge gilt. Spotting to textblock edge. Boards a little mottled, dustjacket chipped to spine-ends and unevenly toned. Ownership inscription of R.B. Gosskey to pastedown dated February 1939, double-sided manuscript letter addressed to Dr Gosskey loosely inserted.
