Notes

An influential work by Irish parliamentarian and 1st Baron Congleton, Henry Brooke Parnell (1776-1842). 'In his treatise On Financial Reform (1830), which had a considerable influence on public opinion, he laid before the country the financial and fiscal policy that Sir Robert Peel and W. E. Gladstone afterwards carried out' (ODNB).
