Description

8vo, pp. [xxiv], 610, 222 + folding map. Title-page printed in red and black. Contemporary sheep, spine divided by double blind rules. A little scattered toning. Somewhat rubbed and marked, a touch of wear. Ownership inscription of William Macpherson, Blairgowrie to title-page.

Notes

A relatively late London reprint of the Delphin edition of Virgil, the work of Charles de la Rue from 1675. ESTC records 7 copies of this particular edition, although curiously none in Britain: 5 in North American institutions, and 1 apiece in the Zielinski Library of the Plock Scientific Society, Poland, and St. John's and Trinity Colleges Kinder Library, New Zealand.
