An early example of the Oxford Pocket Classics series published by archaeologist and publisher John Henry Parker (1806-1884) and his son Jacob Parker (1832-1912). The editor's note is dated 1848 but the earliest edition we have traced was published in 1852; it was frequently reprinted thereafter though each issue is scarce: Worldcat and Library Hub between them locate this one only in the National Library of China and the Welsh National Trust house Lanhydrock.
