This reprint of Charles de Mérouiville's 1684 Delphin edition of Cicero has travelled far in the ownership of the MacPherson family: the pastedown inscription of William is signed Blairgowrie, while the flyleaf inscription in a different hand locates it in New South Wales. This identifies the owner as William Macpherson (1784-1866), a Scot born in India who moved with his wife and son Allan to Sydney to become Collector of Internal Revenue for New South Wales.
