FIRST EDITION, 8vo, pp. xv, [i], 224. Contemporary half calf, black cloth boards, spine divided by raised bands gilt, compartments tooled centrally in blind, marbled edges. Lightly soiled, a touch of spotting. A little rubbed, binding soiled, label lost.

Notes

The first edition of a mock-heroic epic poem in Scots about the destruction of St Andrews cathedral by poet and linguist William Tennant (1784-1848), best-remembered today for his 1812 poem Anster Fair. It is prefaced by a Scots glossary.
