A scarce poetical-historical work on the tuna fisheries of Sicily by local nobleman Cesare Gaetani, consisting of his verses, followed by detailed notes expounding on the allusions both classical and scientific. Detailed information about fishing off Fontane Bianche, where Gaetani was proprietor, is mixed with quotations from Dante and Newton. To the rear is a short essay in fishing in the classical world by Giuseppe Logoteta, and a response to a treatise on Sicilian fishing laws.
