Near comtemporary full calf prize binding by Maclehose, spine divided by raised bands with gilt rolls, red morocco label lettered in gilt, other compartments tooled in gilt, boards bordered with double gilt rules and blind roll, floral tool to corners, central gilt emblem to front board, marbled edges and endpapers. A touch of light spotting. Binding a little sunned to spine, a few marks. Prize bookplate made out to ‘Robertus Kirke’, dated 1872.
