A rare essay on city planning, in the form of a proposal to divide the dam-lands of the Skene family at Rubislaw in a form inspired by Edinburgh's New Town. The plan may be a late work by the Edinburgh architect Archibald Elliot (1761-1823) or an early work by his son of the same name, though this does not appear to be firmly recorded, and it was in any case not enacted. Library Hub locates just two copies, in the NLS and Aberdeen. The folding plan is engraved by W & D Lizars.
