Original light green cloth, spine and front board blocked in olive green and lettered in gilt, all edges gilt. A touch of spotting. Slight lean to spine. Ownership inscription to front flyleaf.

Notes

The first Boughton-illustrated edition of Washington Irving's famous tales, in art nouveau boards designed by A.A. Turbayne. This binding variant is more scarce than the full gilt pictorial design on dark green cloth, which contains the same sheets.
