Notes

An attractive early stereotype edition of Voltaire, printed by the firm that coined the term, and advertised on the first leaf of vol. 1 as being available in 4 variants, of which this is the cheapest, 'papier ordinaire' version, retailing at 5 Francs when new. This set was given as a prize to an Edmond Hunt in 1818, who was a student at Dublin's Feinaiglian Institution; the prize label is signed by school founder and headmaster Gregor von Feinaigle.
