FIRST EDITION, SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, small 4to, pp. [viii], 111, [1]. Original apple green cloth, boards blocked with bell design in blind, spine lettered direct in gilt, pale brown dustjacket printed in black and red. Just a touch of spotting. Dustjacket a little marked to front panel and a touch bumped and nicked to top edge. Signed by John Betjeman to half-title, contemporary ownership inscription to flyleaf (28th January 1961).

Notes

The first edition of Betjeman's autobiography in verse, signed by the poet to the half-title. Although this was also issued as a signed and numbered variant limited to 125 copies, this is from the trade issue and unnumbered.
