The verso of the title-page is printed: 'The warranted correctness and established character of the Author's Books, induce him to inform the Public, That no copy of any of them is genuine but what is signed by his own hand, as under', followed by the author's signature. This 1768 text was reprinted many times well into the 19th century, though this was likely the last edition signed by Thomson, who died in 1807. WorldCat and Library Hub cite only three copies of this edition at the BL, NLS, and University of Aberdeen.
