Contemporary dark red velvet, brass edges and clasp to boards, brass shield engraved ‘Church Service’ to front board, edges gilt, housed in original dark red roan drop-front box with brass clasp, the box lined with textured silk. Velvet just the faintest touch rubbed at spine ends, the case extremities rubbed and its lining worn and separating. Bookseller’s ticket of J.R. Pearce, London, to flyleaf.
